This error message usually means that there is something wrong with your account login or the connection to SketchUp's online services. Don't worry! This can happen for a variety of reasons, and most users can resolve it with these simple steps.
1. Log out and log back in
A fresh start can often resolve connection issues:
- Log out of SketchUp completely (including any older versions of SketchUp installed on your computer). Don't just close the programme window or browser tab. Be sure to use the “Log Out” option in your account menu.
- Sign in to your Trimble AMP portal to revoke all authorisations for your devices. See the instructions in this article: Help, I'm logged in on too many devices!
- Sign in again (to your current version) with your correct login details.
2. If errors persists, you can reset your login status by deleting the login_session.dat file:
- On Mac: /Users//Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2026/login_session.dat
- On Windows: C:/Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2026/SketchUp/login_session.dat
