In SketchUp 2023.1 (on MS Windows) a bug has accidentally been introduced that prevents copying from one file to another. However, there is a workaround to "switch this function back on".
- Open two instances of SketchUp 2023.1
- In the second instance, copy the scale figure or draw anything and copy that. Use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to paste it again.
- In the first instance, copy the thing you actually want to copy, using Ctrl+C.
- In the second instance, paste the thing from the first instance. Now it does work, and will keep working until you close SketchUp.
This error is known to the developers.
It is expected to be fixed by the next fix-release. However, Trimble does not provide any guarantees regarding the future development of their software.
