Holes in my SketchUp model!

Modified on Fri, 25 Jul at 3:32 PM

In some cases, gaps, holes or missing geometry can occur in a SketchUp model. This happens most often when using the follow-me tool or when importing a 3D file (dwg, dxf, 3ds, etc.).

The problem is the physical size of the model; probably your model is very small. SketchUp Pro has an accuracy of up to four decimal places (in mm). Values smaller than that are rounded or omitted.

Solution:

  1. For follow me tool:
Scale the design up, for example10x (with the scale tool)
    Create the follow-me-object
Scale it back down, for example 0,1x

  2. For imported objects: import the object with larger units than the real model units (mm, cm, dm, m, km ... whichever gives the best result).

    Geïmporteerd model 1:1
Import > Options > Units: mm
