Gaps in my SketchUp model!

Modified on Fri, 09 Feb 2024 at 03:40 PM

In some cases, gaps, holes or missing geometry can occur in a SketchUp model. This happens most often when using the follow-me tool or when importing a 3D file (dwg, dxf, 3ds, etc.).

The problem is the physical size of the model; probably your model is very small. SketchUp Pro has an accuracy of up to four decimal places (in mm). Values smaller than that are rounded or omitted.

Solution:

  1. For follow me tool: scale the design first, e.g. 100x (with the scale tool), then edit it and then you can resize the design again.
  2. For imported objects: import the object with units 'metres' or 'kilometres' (whichever gives the best result).
