Questions about SketchUp licenses within educationIs there an offline version of SketchUp? (Meaning, does it work without internet and without logging into SketchUp?)
By default, SketchUp does not work fully offline but online. This means that an internet connection is always required.
There is a possibility to work offline; this network variant requires a physical server.
If you want to use it completely offline, you must purchase a private license server. However, many customers find this difficult to install, and it also involves extra delivery time due to the way this process works. For many customers, this is therefore not the most suitable option, but it is truly offline.
A network license can also be "checked out" for offline use. This is a manual action on each machine, but it is very simple (maximum of 1 week).
If you would rather choose one of the online licenses, you can also choose to disable internet traffic at the administrator level in the school network to all addresses except those where the license is verified. In that case, you can still choose a regular network license or a per-user license. IP addresses can be found here:
Are the licenses per computer or per student? (And what do they cost?)
Within education, there are two types of licenses:
SketchUp Pro Classic – Educational Network License: The network license is for general use within the school and is not linked to individuals. Installation on multiple devices is permitted.
Are the licenses for students or also for teachers?
