Information about Educational Network Licenses

Modified on Wed, 13 Nov at 4:27 PM

Q: How does an Educational Network License work?
A: SketchUp Pro Educational Network Licenses are managed over the internet, not locally on your own network. So there is no local file on your own network.

When you start a network version of SketchUp Pro, it taps a server over the internet and lets it know that the license is in use. The server knows how often this can happen. After SketchUp Pro is closed on the client, the license is released for another user.

Q: What server access does SketchUp Pro need?
A: Make sure you open ports 80, 8080, 443, 5053, and 50530 in your firewall for SketchUp Pro.
Also, SketchUp Pro needs access to all subdomains of SketchUp.com, simply add them as:
*.sketchup.com

Q: Is there a way to manage the licenses, see who is using which, how many are free, checked out etc?
A:  No, unfortunately not.
