Connectivity, Offline & Reliability

My licenses are online. What happens if the Internet goes down?

Our cloud licensing tolerates connection loss of up to several hours. You can continue working without

interruption.

Can we “borrow” a cloud license for travel or field work?

No, borrowing a license for up to 2 weeks is only supported on a License Server. If you need to borrow a

license, you can install a License Server and configure your products to use it. You can switch between

Cloud Licensing and a License Server at any time.

Can I use my licenses completely offline?

Yes, if you deploy a License Server, you can borrow your licenses for up to 14 days at a time. Offline mode

is not supported in Cloud Licensing.

What if my device is behind a proxy, captive portal, or intermittent network?

Our products have built-in proxy detection. However, if you receive an error that the product cannot

connect to the licensing service, you may need to configure proxy settings or add firewall exceptions

manually.

What is the uptime target (SLA) for licensing, and is there a public status

page?

Our online licensing consistently meets our target of 99.95% uptime, backed by a set of redundancy and

fallback mechanisms. You can check the current status at: https://status.chaos.com/
