Yes, you can use Enscape offline. If you have a not-so-stable internet connection, then this is best done by using 'borrowing'. This works the same for all licenses that are bought from the supplier Chaos. Read more in this article.
However, there are some features that you can only use when you are connected to the Internet.
This concerns the following functions:
- Objects library (Offline option available, see below)
- Materials library
- Upload panoramas and virtual tours to the cloud
- Web standalone export
- AI enhancer
- Site Context
Use Object Library Offline
To work offline but still have the asset library available, check "Offline Asset Library" in the asset library window or in the Enscape UI asset library.
If checked, a dialog box will appear asking you to define the location where you want to save the Offline Assets.
NOTE: Choosing a folder with existing content may result in data loss. So make sure you choose a special folder that contains only these downloaded Offline Assets, otherwise you may lose files that you might otherwise have wanted to keep.
Determine the location to store the Offline Assets
The dialog box then asks whether you want to download the latest versions of all Enscape Assets or use the existing cached Assets, that is, the Assets that have already been placed in the CAD application and rendered at least once in the Enscape viewport.
Choose between the latest version or the locally stored version of assets to use.
If you select 'Download', you will then have to wait for all assets to download (depending on your internet speed, but with a good cable connection this will take about 5 minutes). A progress bar will appear at the bottom of the asset library dialog to indicate the process.

To return to the online asset library, simply uncheck the 'Offline Enscape Assets' option.
Tip
When new Enscape Assets become available (usually at the same time a new version of Enscape becomes available) and you are using Offline Assets, you will need to uncheck the Offline Assets option and re-download the Offline Assets to access the new assets.
Offline Assets downloaded by Enscape version 3.5 will not be compatible with Enscape versions 3.4 or earlier.
