Problem description
You have installed V-Ray for SketchUp Studio.
During or after installation, log in using your Trimble ID.
But after you log in, V-Ray gives the error:
"No active V-Ray for SketchUp License."
Solution 1 - Trimble ID
- First, check that you're actually logged in with your Trimble ID. Go to [username/username]
http://localhost:30304
in your web browser. - You see that you are logged in with the correct address (top right), but despite this, there are no licenses available:
- Click on "Online Licensing" > "Sign out"
- Close the log out tab.
- Click on "Online Licensing" again > and now on "Sign in".
- Please consciously choose the Continue with Trimble option and use the email address containing your SketchUp Studio license to log in:
- If everything went well, you will see Successful activation and a rectangle that says: V-Ray for SketchUp Studio
Solution 2 - Reassign License
Sometimes logging back in isn't enough to fix the problem. In that case, follow the instructions below.
- Open your Trimble Account Management Portal. If you have more than one account, select the correct one.
- Click on Members.
- Open the context menu (
) next to the user's name and select Modify Product Access.
- Deselect SketchUp Studio from the products list.
- Click Save Product Access.
- Wait about 10 minutes
- Click Modify Product Access again for that same user.
- Check SketchUp Studio in the list of products.
- Select ' Save Product Access '.
- Now go to http://localhost:30304/#/ to open the Chaos License Server.
- Click on Online Licensing at the top of the page and click on Sign Out.
- Navigate to https://accounts.chaosgroup.com/trimble/login, then click Continue with Trimble and log in with your Trimble ID.
- Go back to SketchUp and log out of your account.
- Log back into SketchUp immediately. Your V-Ray license is now activated in SketchUp Studio!
Solution 3 - Reinstall the license server
If this doesn't solve the problem, follow these steps:
- Remove the Chaos License Server
- Open your File Explorer and navigate to Program files\Common files\ChaosGroup.
- Delete the folder named "ssl".
- Download the Chaos License Server from the Chaos Download Center.
- Install the Chaos License Server. During installation, select Customize and deselect "Activate during installation."
- Select Ignore for any error messages during installation.
- Once the installation is complete, open
http://localhost:30304
in your web browser. - Log in with your Trimble ID
- Activate online licenses with your account.
