Information about subscriptions

Why should I take a Subscription?

More and more software is offered in the form of a subscription and SketchUp Pro will follow suit. In addition, a Subscription offers you more functionality compared to the classic licensing model, such as:

- Viewers for the Hololens, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality

- Access SketchUp's Premium Browser from anywhere

- High-resolution geo-locations

- Trimble Connect for unlimited cloud storage and collaboration

- And perhaps even more in the near future

Above all, it is a worry-free licensing model. You are always entitled to support and the latest version of SketchUp Pro during your Subscription period.

What happens when my Subscription ends?

If the subscription has ended and has not been renewed in time, you will no longer have access to the premium functions of SketchUp Pro / Studio, such as the desktop applications, Sefaira, etc. You can still open your models in the SketchUp Free web version, but not for commercial use. The SketchUp Mobile Viewer is accessible, although the Augmented Reality functionality will be disabled.

Are there also options for floating / network use of Subscriptions?

No, not at the moment. Subscriptions are personal via a Trimble ID.

What happens to my Trimble Connect data if I don't renew my Subscription?

Data will never be deleted from Trimble Connect. If they ever plan to do so, there will be an announcement well in advance with details and guidance on how long the data will remain available.

A Subscription gives you access to unlimited storage and projects in Trimble Connect. If you quit, you keep access to SketchUp Free.

Trimble Connect offers storage for everyone. Everyone has a 'Free Plan'. You may then manage one project with 10GB of data.

I am canceling the subscription. What happens to my Trimble Connect projects?

Projects (and the files within them) are set to read-only if they exceed 10GB. However, all data is retained.

What can I do best?

It's a good idea to plan ahead if you're thinking of stopping the subscription and want to continue with SketchUp Free (non-commercial use, for example). Download everything to your computer and save the project you want to make changes to.

Use Trimble Connect as an additional storage option, not the only one.

The Trimble Sync desktop app automatically synchronizes your project folder with Trimble Connect.
