Inspire Studio runs on both macOS and Windows as a standalone product or under Altair's flexible token-based licensing model. Inspire Studio removes the limitations of traditional CAID tools for infinite creativity while ensuring the export of robust digital models for product development.



Q: What can I use Altair Inspire Studio for?

A: Altair Inspire Studio is a 3D modeling program for design. It is most suitable for product design such as consumer and technical products, furniture but also jewellery. You can also create photo-realistic images from your own designs, or designs that you import from other 3D software.


Q: Can I also use Altair Inspire Studio offline?

A:  Yes, you can also use Altair Inspire Studio offline. To do this, go to the menu 'File' > 'Licensing' (on both Windows and macOS). 

You will then see the 'License Setup' dialog box. Here you can still log in and set the slider at 'Offline Mode' to 'On'.

Q: Can I exchange files with other 3D programs?

A:  Yes. Altair Inspire Studio is built on the 3D core Parasolid, the same as SolidWorks. This allows you to exchange smoothly and accurately with SolidWorks and with other packages via STEP, IGES, 3DM, STL, DWG, 3DS, OBJ, SAT, VDA, ...


Q: Can I also create technical drawings in Altair Inspire Studio?

A:  You can add measurements to your design, sure, but the separate Drawing Mode will return in an upcoming version!
