Optimize the VR experience in HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift

Modified on Mon, 5 Feb at 10:45 PM

HTC VIVE (MAC & WINDOWS)

To increase the quality :

  1. Launch SteamVR
  2. Go to Settings
  3. In the Developer tab, modify the Supersampling setting between 0.6 and 2 (0.6 is a low resolution, 2 is very high)
  4. Run Twinmotion and launch the VR mode

OCULUS RIFT (WINDOWS only)

If the VR doesn't start :

  1. Go to Oculus App > Settings > General > Allow apps from unknown sources

To reduce bottlenecks :

  1. Go to C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics
  2. Right click on the OculusDebugTool and choose Properties
  3. In the Compatibility tab, check the Run this program as an administrator and close the window
  4. Open OculusDebugTool
  5. Under Pixel Per Display Pixel Override, modify the setting between 0.1 and 2 (0.1 is a low resolution, 2 is very high)
  6. Don't close this window, run Twinmotion and launch the VR BIMmotion

Warning : These modifications will also require more time to calculate. In other words, at a lower speed. So it’s something you only want to do if you have a good graphics card.
