For larger files, LayOut can be quite resource-intensive. Here’s how to improve this:
- Open a LayOut document;</>
- Go to menu File > Document Setup ... > Paper;
- Lower the Edit quality ;
- Select a SketchUp window;
- Open the SketchUp Model window (Window > SketchUp Model);
- At the bottom right of this panel, set the Render setting to Raster and uncheck Auto*
- Hide unused objects, images and SketchUp windows on layers as much as possible (Window > Layers...)
- Use the very 'sketchy styles' as late as possible.
* With the Auto setting turned off, you will have to manually render changes to the SketchUp window by clicking the Render button.
Don't forget to turn the quality back up before presenting, exporting or printing!
