SketchUp tries to protect its users' data. When a user automatically logs in with a previously used token, something can go wrong. The user will then receive the error message 'Auth token cannot be used' .
Solution:
1. Open a SketchUp file
2. Then log out:
- Go to the Help menu at the top
- Select 'Sign out (...)'
3. Close SketchUp
On Mac: Use the 'Quit' command in the 'SketchUp' menu (so don't press the red dot)
4. Delete the login_session.dat file
On macOS : In the folder 'Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2022/. Follow the steps at the bottom of this page to find this hidden folder!
On Windows : In the folder 'C:/Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2022/SketchUp'
5. Open SketchUp
6. Reopen the file
7. You will now need to log in again. The error message should now be gone.
Note: Can't log out?
Then carry out the rest of the process from step 2.
You will then initially get an error at step 4. Close the error, close SketchUp and try again. Now it works.
Step 4 for MacOS:
This folder ( 'Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2022/.) is hidden and can be made visible by following these steps:
- Method 1:
In Finder, hold down the Option key when using the Go menu .
The Library appears under the current user's home folder.
- Method 2:
In the Finder, navigate to Go > Go to Folder.
In the Go to Folder dialog box, type ~/Library.
Click Go .
