Can I upgrade from version 1 or 2 to version 3?

No. Because Thea Render is now a subscription (i.e. paying per year) you can switch from your current permanent version to the latest by taking out a subscription.

Have the prices changed with the release of Thea Render version 3?

No, after the release of Thea Render in March 2021, prices have not changed. The most current prices can be found here .

How many times can I activate Thea?

The license is personal and can be activated on one machine at a time via a login.

Can Thea also render in the Cloud/are there render farms?

With the special Render Node licenses you can set up your own render farm, or at least have multiple computers in your network contribute to the calculations.

In addition, there are several public render farms on the market that can calculate Thea renders for you. In the Netherlands, Drop & Render does this.

Kerkythea

That was the first free version, developed by Thea founder Ioannes during his university years. Later he developed the paid Thea. Kerkythea is still available but is no longer developed.

What is the ordering procedure / what do we receive?

You will be given access to the Altair Account Portal where you can view your licenses and download Thea Render.
