How do I update my graphics driver?

Modified on Thu, 16 May at 1:36 PM

In order for your software to work optimally, we advise you to make sure your machine always runs the latest version of the graphics driver. The reason for this is to make sure, for example, that your image does not freeze, weird objects show up, models look sectioned or your software becomes laggy.

Update your graphics driver as shown below:

Mac

1. Click on the Apple logo

2. In the "Apple" menu, click "Software Update."

3. If there is an available Mac OS X update, you can install it. If there is an update to the graphics driver, it will be in the Mac OS X update.

Windows

Before you can update the graphics driver, you need to know what type of graphics card you have.

The easiest way to find your graphics card is to run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool:

1. Click Start.

2. On the Start menu, click Run.

3. Type "dxdiag" (without the quotes) in the Open box, then click OK.

4. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens. Click on the Display tab.

5. The Display tab displays information about your graphics card in the Device section. You can see the name of your
graphics card as well as how much video memory it has.

Once you know what type of graphics card you have, go to the manufacturer's website to download the latest driver.

Here you will find links for downloading drivers from the most common graphics card manufacturers:

Nvidia

AMD

Intel
