SWARM is a new distributed rendering system for V-Ray. It allows the user to render projects on multiple systems simultaneously, through a web-based interface.
How does V-Ray Swarm work?
V-Ray Swarm must be installed on each machine used for network rendering. You can then activate this V-Ray Swarm in the V-Ray rendering settings for Revit/SketchUp/3DsMax. Note: For the swarm to work correctly, each machine in the swarm must:
- Being able to achieve a license
- Run the same version of the swarm
- Connected to the same network and workgroup
To read the license, use the V-ray License Server Manager (for online licenses and dongles that plug into the render node machine) or have the node read a license on a remote machine using the Client License Settings utility.
Does the V-Ray Swarm also work over the internet?
No, the computers must be in the same LAN.
